When you notice that your mattress is deformed, saggy in places or with lumps, and if you wake up after a night’s sleep tired and aching, it is time to think about changing your mattress. The optimal time to change a mattress is after 5-7 years of use, but no more than 10.
There are many types of mattresses for different types of people and sleeping habits. If you know what feature is important to you, mattresses from our range can be filtered on the mattresses page. If you are unsure as regards the features and do not know what each of them means for comfort, we recommend you to to launch our guide to mattresses. If you wish to try out a mattress before purchasing it, visit our retail outlets.
There are certain rules when it comes to combining a mattress with a base. For example, foam and latex mattresses must be placed on a slatted frame, while spring mattresses can also be placed on a solid base. Latex, foam and pocket spring mattresses require a slatted base with a high density of slats due to the mattress structure.
Persons with a shorter stature and smaller body weight should sleep on soft mattresses, such as gel-filled mattresses or memory foam mattresses. Sleeping on harder mattresses can cause pain in the hips and spine, just like after sitting on a hard surface for a long time. Heavier persons with a large stature should choose mattresses with a firmer structure and reinforced frame, such as the Exclusive feel 2 or Comfort Sleep from the Family collection, or Bioritam and Astoria Gold from the Royal collection.
Of course! Our mattresses can be custom-made in all non-standard sizes, with a short delivery time.
Both the base and the mattress are very important for comfortable and relaxed sleep. However, the mattress is usually the more important. When choosing a base, we strongly recommend flexible slatted bases with less than 5 cm of space between them, such as the Legenda Duo S bases. Keep in mind that a quality base extends the lifetime of your mattress.
The mattress must be placed on a flat surface, with a flat tool on the upper side of the mattress so that the height. i.e. the space between the two flat surfaces, can be correctly measured. The correct way to measure a mattress is shown in the following figure:
We guarantee a delivery of our mattress models between 5 and 15 days. In exceptional circumstances there might be changes, of which we will immediately inform you just after you place your order.
If your mattress does not have a labelled summer and winter side, we recommend you to rotate it every three months or at least once a year. There are also mattresses that should not be rotated, which will also be specially indicated on them.
Most of our mattress covers is made of Argentano fabric (check in the description). It is a fabric with anti-allergy properties that protects the mattress from bacterial growth and odours using the ionic silver technology, which is suitable for persons suffering from allergies.
Each mattress offers a different feeling of comfort to different sleepers. Sometimes it happens that both partners enjoy the same type of mattress, and sometimes not. That is why we have designed various types of mattresses. You need only try them out and agree on which mattress suits you the best. If you both like the same type of mattress, it is clearly simpler to buy a single mattress. Naturally, if you are buying bases with manual or electric adjustment along with the mattress, we recommend separate mattresses.
Visco-elastic foam is also known as memory foam. It “remembers” the body shape and adjusts itself to it. This enables the most efficient distribution of the body weight on the mattress, reducing the pressure on the spine.
Cold-cast foam is a great leap forward in technology compared to the classic polyurethane foam. It is a high-quality water-based material with characteristics such as elasticity, comfort and breathability.
Pocket springs are small, inside cotton fabric (pockets) in order to contribute to the mattress elasticity. Smaller spring sizes enable more mattress flexibility, enabling it to adjust to the body contours more easily. Their special feature is that only those springs that the body exerts pressure on are compressed, thus supporting all of the critical points on the body well. Each spring moves independently of the others, like piano keys, without transferring movement to the adjacent springs. Owing to the above, a pocket spring mattress ensures an optimal support to all body zones.
The inside structure of the mattress consists of open cells with billions of miniature air bubbles and microscopic rubber that react like countless little springs, giving it the property of a visco-elastic material. Owing to the open dynamic latex structure, the mattress ensures normal air circulation and good moisture conductivity. It is pleasantly breathable and regulates the temperature well – it is cooler in summer and warmer in winter.
